A Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) lets many international graduates work in Canada after finishing an eligible program at a participating DLI. Basics to know: • Eligibility depends on program length, institution type, and study authorization history — confirm current IRCC rules for your graduating cohort. • Apply within the IRCC deadline after you receive confirmation of program completion (and while your study permit is still valid when required). • PGWP length is generally tied to the length of the completed program, subject to IRCC caps and exceptions. • You usually cannot get a second PGWP after using one. • Canadian work experience gained on a PGWP can support Canadian Experience Class or provincial streams later.
